Black Clergy In Support of The Federal Marriage Amendment

The following is a list of Pastors and Churches who are reported to have been in support of the discriminatory and divisive Federal Marriage Amendment. OPERATION: REBIRTH has sent letters to each of them in hopes of creating some dialogue about the issues that are being used to divide our community in this election. Hopefully these pastors will accept our invitation so we will be able to come together, talk to one another, and learn from each other as to how we can be unified as a community. Let’s see what happens…

Bishop Eddie Long of New Birth: Asked if he would support a constitutional ban on gay marriage, Long said: "Yes, I would." He said his church counsels gay members to abandon their homosexuality, a lifestyle that he said the Bible prohibits. - AJC
